Nexen Speed Racing, the largest motorsports competition in Korea sponsored by Nexen Tire and hosted by Korea Speed Racing (KSR, CEO Kim Ki-hyeok), announced on the 5th that it signed a sponsorship contract with Universal Oil Co., Ltd., a lubricant specialist, on the 1st for the 2018 season.
The sponsorship signing ceremony held at Universal Oil’s headquarters in Gimhae, Gyeongnam, was attended by KSR CEO Kim Ki-hyeok, Universal Oil CEO Son In-ho (right in the photo), and executives and employees.
Universal Oil, founded in 2004, is a lubricant and grease production specialist with over 300 lubricant sales outlets nationwide and also operates local overseas branches in Indonesia and Vietnam.
Universal Oil’s premium lubricant brand EXXA is a high-performance engine oil designed for car racing, high-speed driving, and long-life based on UNIPOL LAB’s latest technology, ester synthetic oil. The EXXA RACER engine oil presented through Nexen Speed Racing is EXXA’s top-line racing engine oil manufactured with a proprietary 100% ester synthetic oil, maximizing protection and lubrication performance in harsh racing environments. “We wanted to let people know that there are engine oils with technological prowess in Korea,” said Son In-ho, CEO of Universal Oil. “We decided that Nexen Speed Racing is the largest domestic motorsports competition and the most suitable for promoting our excellent products.”
He also added, “We will focus on expanding Universal Oil to the world, especially using domestic motorsports competitions as a springboard,” and “We hope to achieve good results through sponsorship of Nexen Speed Racing in the 2018 season and continue our sponsorship relationship next year.”
KSR CEO Kim Ki-hyeok said, “We are delighted to sign our first sponsorship contract with Universal Oil this year,” and added, “We hope that Nexen Speed Racing will continue to develop infinitely, including promoting our desired products and advancing our technology.” The opening ceremony of the 2018 Nexen Speed Racing will be held on April 15 at the Korea International Circuit in Yeongam, Jeollanam-do.
